2022 Annual Newsletter

Introduction from the Chair

Dear colleagues,

You are in for such a treat as you open this newsletter and begin to read about the incredible work our community has accomplished around the world this past year.

Country teams are producing full modules on a stunning array of topics: Nightmares, induction of labor, and leprosy, to name just a very few – wow! You are also innovating on the DIPEx methodology in so many brilliant ways: arts-based education and interventions; modules on experiences with education and with social care in addition to those focused on health; creative partnerships and engagement processes.

At the same time, many of you have taken on cross-national analyses at a rate unprecedented in DI’s history, partnering more closely than ever with colleagues across borders and time zones to produce outstanding scholarship, insights, and collaborative approaches to understanding health experiences and working to improve them.

It will be quite a treat, in 2023, to see DI’s second ever special journal issue published, and to know that together we are generating useful insights about the global pandemic we are all experiencing. As our work has expanded, so has the length of our newsletter… so, make yourself a cup of tea, get comfortable, and enjoy!
